Instrument Setup for W-CDMA TS 25.141 Clause 8 Tests

With the W-CDMA Clause 8 tests, the software provides the selection to either use receiver diversity or not. While the figures contained herein show diversity use, an explanation at each figure explains the setup for non-diversity use.

After setting up the instruments, refer to the tutorial for configuring the test using the Test Case Manager software.

PXB Instrument Setup

The following figure shows the setup when using receiver diversity. When receiver diversity is not being used, only one signal generator and its accompanying connections are required.

External Fader Instrument Setup

The following figure shows the setup using receiver diversity. When receiver diversity is not being used, only one output from the external fader is required.

The external fader, while a selection within the test settings, is not supported by the software. For more information on using an external fader, see the Unsupported Instruments topic.

Ensure that the test signal amplitudes account for loss due to cables, connections, and combiner. To compensate for these losses, see the Configuring the Signal Generator tutorial.
